    We Are Already Victorious

    Psalm 75:5-7 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

    I would like to thank everyone that came out and supported me on August 25th. God has blessed me to be in a run off. People really showed up. I would especially like to thank my opponents, Tashina Morris, Phyllis Harvey-Hall and Cornelius Calhoun. All throughout the process, they were very nice. There were some little things going on but the overall process was very pleasant. Everyone got along. It was not like I thought it would be at all. I look forward to working with all of them going forward.

    The people that volunteered were amazing. My entire family stepped up. It is my nature to always stick my nose into everything and they always have my back even if they do not always agree with the fight or in some case think I started it. All during the election, they were encouraging me to keep moving forward. They continually amazed me as they did things that were totally out of character to move my campaign forward when I thought everything was hopeless. They continue to amaze me and I am blessed to call them family. I am truly a rich man.

    Looking Back for the Way Forward

    In some ways our worst times were our best times. We understood that we could depend on no one but ourselves and looked within our own community for support. We understood what was at stake and demanded the best from all of us and made no excuses. Our leaders lead the way through righteousness and did not sell out their own people for personal gain. Each success by one of us was breaking new ground for all of us.

    Today, we are all about getting ours at the expense of others. We do not care how bad it makes our race looks. We make excuses for ignorance while looking to the same government that put us here in the first place through false promises and government dependency to save us from ourselves. We attack those that espouse the same values that brought us through the toughest times of slavery and Jim Crow as sellouts and traitors to our race.
