Question and Answers from Officer Involved Shooting Press Conference (Unofficial)

DISCLAIMER:  This is not an official transcript of what was said.  This is just my notes that I was able to take down while I was in the meeting.

Mayor called the press conference to order at 12:30 PM

He explained that the investigation is being expedited but it may take several weeks

The mayor briefly addressed the timeline:

    1. EMS dispatched and arrived within 4 minutes within the call

Storm Water Fee – Why I Voted Against It

On Tuesday, the city council voted on an ordinance to levy storm water on parcels of property located with the corporate limits of the city of Montgomery. The city of Montgomery is required under Federal and State regulations to obtain a National Pollutant Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permit for storm-water discharges from the public Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4). The amount of the fee will be $0.005 per square feet for commercial properties up to $3,000. It will be a flat $10 for residential properties. The basis for selecting the properties to which the additional fee will be assessed is based on whether or not you currently are paying property taxes. Click here to see the complete ordinance.

The ordinances passed by a 6-2 vote with one councilman abstaining. I was one of the dissenting votes. I chose to vote against it for the following reasons:
